In their words
“Needs to have the same options like the IOS version so you can have the two different list view option other than that its a good app . update... app constantly glitches out, updating pdf's with acrobat has become a nightmare as a constantly glitches out on iPhone and Android versions almost making the app useless altogether seeing as we have to use it for my job to fill out service tickets I have to keep using this regardless I'm hoping they fix the IOS and Android apps”

“Dropbox are reducing all their features eg getting rid of the secure vault and getting rid of the password manager, but they’re not reducing their prices. Time for me to reconsider my cloud storage provider I think”

“It does what it says it will. The problem i have is not huge but annoying. It's supposed to help organize files and folders yet doesn't have a duplicates function and if a picture (for example) is renamed, compressed or the date of last modification is changed, then it may be uploaded again no problem. The other issue is when anything with a transparent background is uploaded to Box there's no way to tell it apart from a white background; even if the image is opened it's still just white.”

“It often feels like this cloud service is being run on someone's home server. You can upload pretty quickly but when you download it suddenly gets really slow.”

Payer pressure is 0.05. The reviewers are staff, drivers, tenants or parents using software their employer or landlord bought. Their complaints are real and commercially inert: they cannot switch, cannot cancel and cannot be sold to. See the payer gate.
What this study cannot tell you
- About 41% of substantive reviews are not matched by the taxonomy, so every percentage here is a floor, not a true rate. The miss rate is roughly uniform across niches, so comparisons between them still hold.
- App-store reviews over-represent the daily user. Buyers complain on G2, Capterra and in churn calls, and those sources are not represented.
- No recency weighting: a complaint from 2021 counts the same as one from last week, so some cited failures may already be fixed.
- Coverage is uneven between stores; where an app is iOS-only in practice its share is computed from Apple data alone.
