“It makes me sad to have to issue a one star review because 1password is the best option on Windows. It works flawlessly over there. But on Android, it's a hot mess. I'd say 1 in 10 times it actually offers me my credentials on a password form. Most of the time I have to look it up manually. it's painful. If this isn't resolved soon I'll have to take my money elsewhere and I don't say that lightly. switching password managers is not a fun task :(”

“Edit June 2026 As I am writing, I am on 5G connectivity. yet, I need to wait minuted to load a social media post. Vidoes load for a bit, then freeze. a lot if sites don't allow you to access them, as they detect the VPN. Over the years, Nord has become worse and worse, to the point of being complete useless garbage.”

“This app is extremely helpful. At the very least it's a great vault for storing passwords, and the password generator saves huge headaches trying to comply with all the different password requirements. It does not work well with most mobile apps: you have to go in and copy and paste manually. It leaves its pop-up screens covering buttons on webpages and in apps so you can't do what you went there for. And the credit card storage is more difficult to use than entering the credit card manually.”

“AUTO FILL PROBLEM & DELAYED VERIFICATION CODE PROBLEM. On Android devices if you have purchased a separate VPN app, to fix the problem of Dashlane not auto filling your user name & passwords, you need to go to Settings, Apps, then to your particular purchased VPN. Allow all Permissions & all Notifications for the VPN app. Problem Solved, no thanks to Dashlane! But there is no fix for Dashlane's main problem - there are often long delays in sending out automated 6 digit log-in verification codes.”

Payer pressure is 0.06. The reviewers are staff, drivers, tenants or parents using software their employer or landlord bought. Their complaints are real and commercially inert: they cannot switch, cannot cancel and cannot be sold to. See the payer gate.
What this study cannot tell you
- About 41% of substantive reviews are not matched by the taxonomy, so every percentage here is a floor, not a true rate. The miss rate is roughly uniform across niches, so comparisons between them still hold.
- App-store reviews over-represent the daily user. Buyers complain on G2, Capterra and in churn calls, and those sources are not represented.
- No recency weighting: a complaint from 2021 counts the same as one from last week, so some cited failures may already be fixed.
- Coverage is uneven between stores; where an app is iOS-only in practice its share is computed from Apple data alone.
